“Everything Flows, and Nothing Stays.”

Inspired by Heraclitus’s philosophy that “everything flows, and nothing stays,” this collection embraces impermanence, nostalgia, and the beauty of imperfections. Drawing from ancient temples, Buddha sculptures, broken porcelain, and personal memories, I translate these fragments into paintings, prints, and embellishments. Each piece captures traces of the past in contemporary form, preserving fleeting beauty and transforming it into something enduring.

The Guardian

Inspired by the lion mural in Buddhist temples, this piece translates quiet strength into textile form. CAD embroidery captures the lion’s presence in detail, while hand-beaded embellishments bring its flowing mane to life. Still but watchful, it stands as a silent protector — a moment of strength and reverence within the flow of time.

The Bleed

Dyed with madder and layered with fragments of red-glazed porcelain, this piece weaves together colour, memory, and time. The dye seeps, the porcelain cracks — both fading, both enduring. A quiet reflection on how beauty leaves its mark, even as it slips away.

The Amulet

This piece is rooted in the porcelain heritage of Jingdezhen and childhood memories. A tribute to resilience and quiet beauty—and to my grandfather, whose memory lives on like an amulet carried close to the heart.

The Stillness

Inspired by the serene faces of ancient Buddhas in temple alcoves and caves, this piece evokes stillness as both presence and pause—a moment of silence held in detailed hand painting and embellishment.

The Bestow

Drawing from the symbolic gourd of longevity and fortune, inspired by my necklace from the antique shop, this piece embodies the quiet grace of bestowal—an offering of blessings, softly anchored in tradition.

Vessels

Hand-painted vases echo the quiet beauty of Jingdezhen porcelain. Some overlaid with CAD embroidery, they disrupt the flatness, adding texture, depth, and a pause in the flow of memory and form.

The Fragments

This piece began with hand-painted studies of my antique objects, arranged in the traditional Bogu style. Each one carries a trace of memory — personal, inherited, and imagined. By painting them, I made them mine. Fragment reflects how objects outlast moments, yet still flow with time, echoing the belief that everything flows, and nothing stays.
